GeneSight® Testing

At Next Chapter Psychiatry, we offer GeneSight® pharmacogenomic testing to help guide treatment decisions. This simple genetic test analyzes how your DNA may affect your body’s response to certain psychiatric medications. The results can provide valuable insight into which medications may be more effective or better tolerated for you, helping to personalize your treatment plan.

How It Works

  1. Request a Kit – If you and your provider decide GeneSight® testing is appropriate, we will arrange for a test kit to be mailed directly to your home.

  2. Collect Your Sample – The test is a quick, painless cheek swab that you can complete yourself in just a few minutes.

  3. Return the Kit – Simply follow the enclosed instructions to package your sample and mail it back to the lab using the prepaid return envelope.

  4. Lab Analysis – The laboratory analyzes your DNA to determine how your genes may influence medication metabolism and effectiveness.

  5. Results & Review – Once results are ready, your provider will receive a detailed report. Together, we’ll review the findings and discuss how they may guide your current or future treatment options.
